Justin Laboo
Justin Laboo has worked in the senior’s accommodation industry for approximately 20 years, most significantly leading the largest retirement operator and developer in Asia Pacific at the time, FKP’s Aveo. His experience extends to the management of US and China markets, which owned both retirement & aged care assets.
Justin was in control of aged care assets in 3 separate states in the US. He also worked with Chinese partners and 2 of the 4 largest insurance companies in China, on the co-investment, development and operation of integrated Aged Care Master Plan communities in Shanghai, Beijing and Nanjing.
He joined the FKP Property Group in 2005, as Head of Corporate Finance and Treasury, leading the Property Group’s treasury, mergers and acquisitions activities across the seniors accommodation and Property Trust industries. He was appointed as FKP’s Executive General Manager in 2006, leading all aspects of FKP’s Retirement and Aged Care division until 2012.
Justin was also Executive Director & CEO for Forest Place Group, a separate and ASX listed Aged Care and Retirement Living entity. In addition he was also a Director on the National Board of the Retirement Villages Association (RVA) (prior to the Property Council merger), and Chairman of the QLD chapter of the RVA.
He has more than 20 years experience in general management, operations, finance and strategy, across the property, banking, construction and energy industries. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics), Bachelor of Laws, and an Executive MBA from the AGSM.
Justin was the Managing Director and CEO of Affinity Education, which was an ASX listed early education service provider, that operated under the separated Operational and Property holdings model.
Justin’s role as Managing Director of Catalyst Health REIT Investments is to lead both the property and funds management functions for the Trust.
Simon Cunningham
Simon Cunningham has held numerous senior corporate finance roles in Australia, Asia, Europe and the United States. He has extensive mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, equity markets and investor relations experience across a number of listed exchanges.
Simon’s most recent role was as Finance Director for NauticAWT where he was responsible for merging together three international contract engineering firms prior to listing the multi disciplined group on the SGX in July 2015. He was responsible for all aspects of the commercial, finance, treasury and investor relations functions of the Group
Prior to this Simon was a key member of the executive team at ASX listed Acer Energy that was engaged in early 2011 by shareholders to revitalise, recapitalise and grow what was formerly Innamincka Petroleum. In late 2012 Acer Energy was subject to an on-market takeover from Drillsearch Energy.
His experience also includes senior corporate roles with European oil and gas explorer Ascent Resources plc, diversified engineering services group Ausenco, International renewable energy provider Energy Developments Limited and independent power producer NRG.
Simon has more than 20 years experience in general management, corporate finance, compliance and strategy, across the banking, resources and energy industries. He holds a Bachelor of Business and is a Certified Practicing Accountant.
Simon’s role as Finance Director of Catalyst Health REIT is to lead the Compliance and Investment management functions for the Trust.
